G7 Leaders Phasing Out Fossil Fuels

test post“Leaders of the world’s top economies Monday (8 June) gave a boost to global talks on tackling climate change by saying the global economy should be decarbonised by the end of this century.

“The high-level backing by G7 countries – Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK and the US – increases the likelihood of almost 200 countries agreeing to a long-term goal when they meeting for climate talks in Paris in December.”

This is phenomenal news. It’s common knowledge among educated individuals, that the increased supply of human-supplied carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is causing the Earth to slowly, gradually warm. Yes, Human are only responsible for around 30GT (gigatons) of carbon dioxide, compared to the 780GT that the Earth produces. However, the Earth has also naturally used the same 780GT that it produced for the past 800,000 years. So, for Humans to come along and start adding an additional 30GT every year, it has slowly pushed the climate off-balance.
